| Het Waterhuis aan de Bierkant is another of Ghent's traditional historic pubs, a 'must' for beer fans and tourists. Its location right next to the river Leie makes it very popular, especially in the summer when the terrace becomes a true 'hot spot', but there is also a splendid view over the river from the candle-lit bar. A further attractions is the regular performances of the Ghent puppet theatre, which take place upstairs. No visit is complete without having tasted one of the tavern's own brews - Gandavum. Klokke Roeland or Mammelokker. Apart from these, the tavern specialises in Gueuze and Kriek beers. Opening times: Daily, from 11:00. Number of different beers on offer: 175. | |
| Het waterhuis aan de Bierkant is een van de traditionele historische cafés van Gent, een must voor bierliefhebbers en toeristen. Door de ligging aan de Leie is het café erg populair, vooral in de zomer. Het terras wordt dan overspoeld, maar ook vanaf de met kaarsen verlichte bar heeft de bezoeker een prachtig uitzicht op de rivier. Een andere attractie zijn de regelmatige voorstellingen van het Gentse poppentheater op de bovenverdieping. Een bezoek is niet volledig zonder te hebben geproefd van een van de eigen brouwsels: Gandavum, Klokke Roeland of Mammelokker. Naast deze bieren is het café gespecialiseerd in geuze en kriek.
