| Een bezoek aan het museum Paul Delvaux is een unieke ervaring op zich: ze dompelt de bezoeker onder in de eigen leefwereld van deze boeiende kunstenaar. Nergens ter wereld bracht men immers zoveel werken van ‘s werelds bekendste twintigste-eeuwse, surrealistische schilder samen. Aan de hand van een unieke verzameling schilderijen, objecten, e.a. worden het leven en de evolutie van het werk van Paul Delvaux in een intiem kader geïllustreerd. Persoonlijke bezittingen en dierbare souvenirs wisselen hier af met de grootste meesterwerken. | |
| In 1979 the Paul Delvaux foundation was incorporated and in 1982 the museum was opened. In the two large underground halls visitors can look at the large canvasses by Delvaux from a big enough distance and get acquainted with lots of objects that belonged to the artist. The museum possesses the most important collection of paintings, drawings and pictures by Delvaux as well as many objects donated by the painter and his spouse to the foundation. |
