| Kortrijk 1302 is the place of choice for young and old alike to relive the Battle of the Golden Spurs. You can handle coats of mail, swords and goedendags (wooden staffs) and see the protagonists of the conflict come to life again while following the course of the battle on a giant scale model. The narrator of this experience is Gilles li Muisit, the old abbot of the Abbey of Saint-Martin. He takes you back into the past and is your guide through seven centuries of Flemish history. At the end, you can watch an intriguing film about traditions surrounding 11 July. |
