| Na het succesverhaal van de heringerichte benedenverdieping is nu ook de bovenverdieping van het Brugse archeologisch museum grondig gerestyled. Het resultaat is een gezinsvriendelijk, interactief museum waarin je wordt aangezet om voorwerpen aan te raken, iets nogal ongewoons voor een museum. Als je nu het archeologisch museum betreedt is het alsof je binnen stapt in de late middeleeuwen en ziet en ruikt wat de Bruggelingen aten, hoe ze gekleed liepen, waar ze werkten en hoe ze werden begraven. Je ontdekt ook hoe hun keuken er uitzag of hun waterleidingsnet of zelfs wat er in de beerputten terecht kwam. Telkens krijg je de link met de leefwereld van vandaag te zien. Ook de oude ambachten komen aan bod: je kunt je verkleden met kleurrijke geverfde stoffen, door leerlooierskuipen lopen, voelen hoe warm het is in een baksteenoven of een versieringsontwerp maken voor potten. Kortom, dé ideale gezinsactiviteit waar ‘Pol de Mol’ je kinderen meeneemt door de wereld van de archeologie. | |
| Family-friendly, interactive museum where you are encouraged to touch objects. As soon as you enter the archaeological museum, you discover the past under your feet. You see what the people of Bruges ate, how they lived, where they worked and how they were buried. By constantly making a link to today’s world, it quickly becomes clear what the archaeological finds were used for. Old crafts are also looked at: children can dress up in colourful clothing, you can stroll through tanneries, feel the heat of a brick oven or decorate the main export of Bruges: elaborately decorated earthenware. In short, the ideal family activity, where 'Pol de Mol' takes you and your children on a journey through the world of archaeology. This museum juxtaposes prehistory, Roman times, and the early, high and late Middle Ages with our time. Under the motto 'Feel the past under your feet' you discover the past of the city through all sorts of do-and-search elements. |
