Dive into a scientist’s brain. Let yourself be challenged, but also dare to doubt and fail. And above all: discover the extraordinary objects that result from science in all its facets. Past and present. Children and teenagers are also very welcome at the GUM. You can take part in one of the family games. In addition, you will be joined by Professor DOUBT (from 4 years of age) or can go on a reSEARCHtour (from 9 years of age). Be sure to admire the accompanying and free-to-visit Botanical Garden, with an arboretum, rock garden and a Mediterranean garden in the outside area. Or discover giant water lilies and other tropical and subtropical natural beauty in the greenhouses. With 4,000 m2, there is enough space to allow the youngsters to roam around. Gefascineerd door onderzoekstechnieken, van biologie tot archeologie, van psychologie tot geneeskunde? Dan is een bezoek aan het gloednieuwe Gents Universiteitsmuseum een aanrader. Duik in het brein van een wetenschapper. Laat je uitdagen, maar durf ook twijfelen en falen. En vooral: ontdek de bijzondere objecten die het resultaat zijn van de wetenschap in al haar facetten. Vroeger en nu. Ook kinderen en tieners zijn heel erg welkom in het GUM. Zo kan je deelnemen aan één van de familiespelen. Daarbij krijg je het ge- zelschap van professor Twijfel (vanaf 4 jaar) of trek je op onderZOEK- TOCHT (vanaf 9 jaar). Bewonder zeker ook de bijhorende en gratis te bezoeken Plantentuin, met in het buitengedeelte onder andere een arboretum, rotstuin en een mediterrane tuin. Of ontdek reuzenwa- terlelies en andere (sub)tropische natuurpracht in de serres. Met 4000 m2 is er genoeg ruimte om het jonge volkje te laten rondstruinen.
