| What started as a small chapel in the 9th century, became a Romanesque church in the 11th century, and from there, this hilltop church was built up over the course of 300 years. | Wat in de 9e eeuw begon als een klein kapelletje, groeide in de 11e eeuw uit tot een romaanse kerk. Vervolgens werd er in de loop van 300 jaar verder gebouwd aan de kerk, die op de top van een heuvel staat. In deze kerk, die uit plaatselijke steen is gebouwd in Brabants gotische stijl, vinden de trouwerijen en begrafenissen van vooraanstaande Brusselaren plaats. Op zondagen kan met het carillon, dat uit 49 klokken bestaat, al van verre horen. |
