| De Vlaamsgezinde luitenant Juul De Winde sneuvelde tijdens de aanval voor de bevrijding van Westrozebeke op 28 september 1918. Luitenant De Winde werd na de oorlog bijgezet in de crypte van de IJzertoren naast 8 andere oorlogshelden onder wie de gebroeders Van Raemdonck en Joe English. Op 8 mei 1938 onthulde men het monument op de hoek van de Poelkapellestraat en de Hyndrickxbosstraat in Westrozebeke. Daarna werd het monument verplaatst en gerenoveerd. Op 28 september 2013 werd het vernieuwde monument onthuld in de Hyndrickxbosstraat 1 in Westrozebeke. Doordat het monument recent werd verplaatst, vindt er een nieuw toegankelijkheidsonderzoek plaats. | |
| The pro-Flemish Lieutenant Juul De Winde was killed during the attack for the liberation of Westrozebeke on 28 September 1918. After the war, Lieutenant De Winde was interred in the crypt of the Yser Tower next to 8 other war heroes amongst whom are the brothers Van Raemdonck and Joe English. On 8 May 1938, the monument on the corner of the Poelkapellestraat and the Hyndricksbosstraat in Westrozebeke was unveiled. September 2013, the renovated monument has been replaced to the Hyndrickxbosstraat 1, Westrozebeke. Because the monument has been replaced recently, there will soon take place a new accessibility screening |
