| Dit stukje loopgraaf uit 1915 kwam in de jaren ‘90 aan het licht bij de aanleg van een nieuw industrieterrein langs het kanaal Ieper-IJzer. De ‘Yorkshire Trench’ ontstond na de eerste gasaanval in 1915. Deze loopgraaf uit de eerste Britse linie werd later uitgebreid met een ‘deep dug-out’ of een ondergrondse schuilplaats. | |
| This piece of trench from 1915 came to light in the 1990s during the construction of a new industrial site along the Ypres-Yser canal. The ‘Yorkshire Trench’ was created after the first gas attack in 1915. This trench from the first British line was later expanded to include a ‘deep dug-out’ or underground shelter. |
