The Cathedral of Our Lady in Antwerp was completed in 1521, no less than 170 years after work began. It is the largest Gothic church in the Low Countries. Today, you can still find four masterpieces by Rubens in the cathedral: The Raising of the Cross (triptych, 1609-1610), The Descent from the Cross (triptych, 1611-1614), The Resurrection of Christ (triptych, 1611-1612) and The Assumption of Mary (altarpiece, 1625-1626). @en |

De Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekathedraal in Antwerpen werd voltooid in 1521, niet minder dan 170 jaar na de aanvang van de werken. Het is de grootse gotische kerk in de Lage Landen. Vandaag de dag vind je nog altijd vier meesterwerken van Rubens in de kathedraal: de Kruisoprichting (drieluik, 1609-1610), de Kkruisafneming (drieluik, 1611-1614), de verrijzenis van Christus (triptiek, 1611-1612) en de Tenhemelopneming van Maria (altaarstuk, 1625-1626). @nl |
