| In het Kantmuseum leer je alles over de ontstaansperiode van kant, de basistechnieken en -slagen, de kanttypes en hun geografische oorsprong, de kantnijverheid vroeger en nu en het Brugse kantonderwijs. Er gaat aandacht naar de waardering van handwerk en naar de esthetiek van kant. Daarnaast is er de hedendagse en de internationale uitstraling van kant. Het Brugse kantmuseum is interactief en multimediaal uitgebouwd. Met je toegangsticket van het museum kan je in het Kantmuseum tussen 14u en 17u ook de kantklosdemonstraties bijwonen (niet op zon- en feestdagen). Op die manier ervaar je een boeiende totaalbeleving over kant in Brugge en ver daarbuiten. | |
| At the Lace Museum you will learn all about the early days of lace, the basic techniques and stitches, the lace types and their geographical origin, the lace industry past and present and the Bruges lace education. Attention is paid to the appreciation of the craftsmanship and the aesthetic side. And there is also the contemporary and the international appeal of lace. Bruges Lace Museum is interactive and uses multimedia applications. With you admission ticket to the museum you can also attend the lace demonsrations in the Lace Centre between 2 and 5 pm (not on Sundays and public holidays).
