Near the sensory garden, there is a toilet that is signposted as wheelchair accessible. However, both the corridor and the toilet room itself are too small to be considered fully accessible. The toilet is more spacious than a standard toilet and may offer greater comfort for some visitors. An adapted toilet is also available at the garden café, De Orangerie. Access is via a corridor that is 110 cm wide, which limits manoeuvring space. The space beside both the corridor door and the toilet door on the handle side is also rather restricted. The toilet room itself measures 167 cm in width and 177 cm in depth, which is insufficient for a fully accessible toilet. In addition, the service wall has been built out quite widely, resulting in the fold-down support rail being mounted on this wall. Bij de zintuigentuin bevindt zich een toilet dat aangeduid wordt als rolstoeltoegankelijk. Zowel de gang als de toiletruimte zelf zijn echter te beperkt in afmetingen om volledig toegankelijk te zijn. Het toilet is wel ruimer dan een standaardtoilet en kan voor sommige bezoekers meer comfort bieden. Daarnaast is er een aangepast toilet aanwezig bij tuincafetaria De Orangerie. De toegang verloopt via een gang van 110 cm breed, waardoor de manoeuvreerruimte beperkt is. Ook aan de klinkzijde van zowel de gangdeur als de toiletdeur is de opstelruimte eerder klein. De toiletruimte zelf is 167 cm breed en 177 cm diep, wat onvoldoende is om als volledig toegankelijk toilet te worden ingericht. Bovendien is de voorzetwand breed uitgevoerd, waardoor de opklapbare steunbeugel op deze wand bevestigd is. De zintuigentuin is qua ondergrond geoptimaliseerd in samenspraak met erfgoed. De beste kasseien zijn gekozen als looppaden, al blijven kasseien een moeilijker toegankelijke ondergrond. Binnen het domein verschillen de toegankelijkheid en bereikbaarheid van bepaalde routes, bruggen en zones (het theehuisje, de reuzenbijenkorf, de ijskelder). Hellingen, treden, drempels en variërende ondergronden kunnen op sommige plaatsen een uitdaging vormen. Ook zijn niet alle informatieborden even goed leesbaar door hun plaatsing of doordat ze onvoldoende contrasteren met de omgeving. Voor de hondenweide en het speelbos is geen toegankelijk pad voorzien. Het speelbos biedt een gevarieerd aanbod aan speelelementen, maar de ondergrond in boomschors maakt de toegang en het gebruik minder eenvoudig voor personen met een beperkte mobiliteit. @nl |

The surface of the sensory garden has been optimised in consultation with heritage services. The best available cobblestones were selected for the pathways, although cobblestones remain a more challenging surface for accessibility. Throughout the estate, the accessibility and ease of use of certain routes, bridges and areas, such as the tea pavilion, the giant beehive and the ice cellar, vary considerably. Slopes, steps, thresholds and changing surface materials may present challenges in some locations. In addition, not all information panels are equally easy to read, either because of their positioning or because they do not contrast sufficiently with their surroundings. No accessible path has been provided to the dog exercise area or the play forest. The play forest offers a wide variety of play features, but the woodchip surface makes access and use more difficult for people with reduced mobility. @en |
