| De Atlantikwall op het provinciedomein Raversyde is één van de topattracties aan de kust. Het is een unieke afspraak met de geschiedenis. Je wandelt er via loopgraven en bunkers door twee wereldoorlogen. De Atlantikwall bestaat uit Batterij Aachen (WOI) en Saltzwedel Neu (WOII). Batterij Aachen is een uniek bunkercomplex dat volledig werd gerestaureerd en heringericht. Het is gelegen in een glooiend landschap en rolstoeltoegankelijk mits begeleiding (exclusief bepaalde bunkers). Saltzwedel Neu (WOII) is niet rolstoeltoegankelijk. ANNO 1465 met de vier gereconstrueerde vissershuizen en museum brengt je verder terug in de tijd. Je komt er meer te weten over het leven in het middeleeuwse vissersdorp Walraversijde en het archeologisch onderzoek. Het museum en de filmzaal bij ANNO 1465 zijn vlot toegankelijk. Je vindt er ook een aangepast toilet met beugels. De opstelruimte voor het toilet is er wel beperkt tot 103 cm. De gereconstrueerde huisjes zijn moeilijker toegankelijk omwille van de soms smalle en lage doorgangen en de beperkte circulatieruimte hier. Ook de verdiepingen van de woningen zijn niet rolstoeltoegankelijk. Raversyde Natuurpark werd opnieuw aangelegd. Het is een enig stukje natuurgebied gelegen vlakbij de zee, de ideale plek om uit te waaien, volledig tot rust te komen en alle indrukken van Raversyde te laten bezinken. Het Natuurpark is eveneens vlot toegankelijk. | |
| The Atlantic Wall consists of Battery Aachen (WWI) and Saltzwedel Neu (WWII). Battery Aachen is a unique bunker complex that has been completely restored and refurbished. It is located in a rolling landscape and is wheelchair accessible if accompanied. Some bunkers are not accessible, but they can be viewed digitally. Saltzwedel Neu (WWII) is not wheelchair accessible. ANNO 1465 with its four reconstructed fisherman’s houses and museum take you further back in time. Accessibility of the museum and the cinema at ANNO 1465 is good. The reconstructed houses are more difficult to access because of the sometimes narrow and low passageways and the limited circulation space. The different floors of the houses are also not accessible for the wheelchair user. | |
