| Het Turkeyenhof is een gerestaureerde hoeve uit 1737 in klassieke polderhoevestijl. In het Turkeyenhof krijg je via de tentoongestelde oude gebruiksvoorwerpen, Gallo-Romeinse vondsten, foto’s en affiches een brede kijk op het verleden van de gemeente en streek. Je kan er kennismaken met het gereedschap van o.a. de klompenmaker, schoenmaker, schrijnwerker, arduinbewerker en loodgieter. Daarnaast herbergt het museum een uitgebreide collectie Noordzeeschelpen, fossielen en mammoetresten die door de Vlaamse vissers uit de Noordzee werden opgevist. Voor groepen groter dan 10 personen is reserveren noodzakelijk. | |
| Turkeyenhof is a renovated farmhouse from 1737 in the classical polder farm style. Turkeyenhof gives you a broad view on the past of the municipality and the area through an exhibit of old equipment, Gallo-Roman discoveries, photos and posters. You can get to know the equipment of the clog maker, carpenter, shoemaker, bluestone manufacturer and plumber, for example. Moreover, the museum accommodates an extensive collection of North Sea shells, fossils and mammoth remains that were fished from the North Sea by Flemish fishermen. Groups of more than 10 persons have to make reservations. | |
