In het prachtige 16de-eeuwse Huis metten Thoren voert het museum historische figuren op om de geschiedenis van Turnhout en de regio te brengen. Wiske het hert illustreert bijvoorbeeld waarom de jacht zo belangrijk was voor het ontstaan en de ontwikkeling van Turnhout. De torenwachter toont de vele overheersingen die de niet-ommuurde stad onderging. En de kantwerkster bewijst waarom Turnhout zo’n bloeiend kantcentrum was. In the beautiful 16th-century Huis metten Thoren, the museum brings history to life through historical figures who tell the story of Turnhout and the region. For example, Wiske the deer illustrates why hunting was so important for the origin and development of Turnhout. The tower guard shows the many dominations the non-walled city underwent.
