Roger Raveel was born on 15 July 1921 in Machelen-aan-de-Leie, a village near Ghent where he lived and worked throughout his life until his death on 30 January 2013. The museum is located in his birthplace and houses an extensive collection of paintings, drawings and graphic works that provide a fascinating insight into his artistic development. In addition to its permanent collection, the museum regularly hosts temporary exhibitions that place Raveel’s work in dialogue with contemporary art. @en |

Roger Raveel werd op 15 juli 1921 geboren in Machelen-aan-de-Leie, een dorp nabij Gent waar hij altijd heeft gewoond en gewerkt tot zijn overlijden op 30 januari 2013. Het museum bevindt zich in zijn geboortedorp en toont een uitgebreide collectie schilderijen, tekeningen en grafisch werk die een mooi beeld geven van zijn artistieke evolutie. Naast de vaste collectie organiseert het museum regelmatig tijdelijke tentoonstellingen waarin het werk van Raveel in dialoog wordt gebracht met hedendaagse kunst. @nl |
